Cheltenham high street will lose one of its land mark stores at the end of the year. The Famous, a traditional gentlemen's outfitters which has been there for 126 years is closing.
For all but 10 of those years it has been in the same family. Now they have decided not to take up a new lease on the building. They will continue to sell school uniforms but from a different premises.
Ross Cole, the chairman of the company which runs the shop has been working there for 51 years and says he has fond memories of some of the customers who were real characters.

A shop in Cheltenham is closing its menswear department after trading from the same place for 126 years. The Famous of Cheltenham will continue to sell schoolwear but will move to a different premises because its current lease is ending. The shop has been in the same family since 1896.
