The Bath window cleaner who became an internet star when he was filmed balancing on a third-floor ledge has been fined £2,000 by magistrates. Wayne Mallon was filmed as he climbed out of a top floor window without a safety harness.

Self-employed Mallon, who works for Terry Mallon and Sons Cleaning Services, pleaded guilty to three health and safety charges. He was fined £400 for each of the offences and ordered to pay £800 in costs, as well as a £15 victim surcharge, bringing the total to £2,015.
The incident happened above the Loch Fyne restaurant in Bath in September last year and was filmed by a passing pedestrian. The restaurant chain faces six breaches of health and safety regulations, which will be dealt with this Friday.
A video of a West Country window cleaner working fifty feet above ground without a harness has been viewed almost 35 thousand times online. The cleaner, who remains unidentified, can be seen here climbing across the building in Bath. See the clip here on YouTube
