The family of Jacintha Saldanha have paid tribute to her, saying they were "shattered" by her death. A mass was held in honour of the nurse at London's Westminster Cathedral today.

The inquest is due to open into the death of Bristol nurse Jacintha Saldanha. She is thought to have killed herself. She put a hoax call from two Australian DJs through to the ward where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated for morning sickness.

Scotland Yard says the result of a post mortem examination will be released at the inquest.

Prime Minister again pays tribute to nurse

The prime minister has again expressed his sympathy to the family of Brisiol nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who is thought to have killed herself after putting through a hoax phone call about the Duchess of Cambridge.

Today in Parliament, Charlotte Leslie, the MP for the area where she lived, spoke of the family's grief and praised the press for respecting their privacy.

The Prime Minister said today there must be "lessons learnt" from what he described as the tragic death of the Bristol nurse Jacintha Saldanha.

It's thought she committed suicide after putting through a prank phone call from two Australian DJs to the ward where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated.

The MP for Bristol North West has welcomed news of compensation for a family who have lost their loved one.

It's thought Jacintha Saldhana, a nurse who is from Bristol - committed suicide after putting through a prank phone call from two Australian DJs to the ward where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated.

Today the Australian radio station promised to give at least £320,000 to her husband and children.

Two radio DJs who made a prank phone call which police suspect may have led to the suicide of a nurse from Bristol, have spoken of their shock and grief at her death.

Ja'sintha Sal-dar-nah was married with two children. Her body was found on Friday and police suspect she may have killed herself. Labour MP Keith Vaz has said the family were in "terrible distress" because of the tragedy. A memorial fund has been set up to raise money for them.

Jacintha Saldanha's widower Benedict and their son and daughter have been at the House of Commons, speaking on their behalf Labour MP Keith Vaz has said they are, "devastated by the death of Jacintha, a loving mother and a loving wife."
