Wiltshire Police have named the woman whose body was found in a Melksham house on Sunday as Suzanne Newton, 45. She was found in Barnes Wallis Close, Bowerhill. Her husband, Richard Newton, is currently being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder.
Man arrested after discovery of woman's body, is in hospital
Wiltshire police say a man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Melksham, is receiving hospital treatment. The 51-year-old man was arrested yesterday on Exmoor.
He remains under arrest and is being guarded by police officers whilst in hospital. He is likely to be discharged in a few days and upon release from hospital will be taken to Melksham Police Station for interview.
A man is in custody tonight after a woman's body was found at a house in Wiltshire. Police launched a hunt for Richard Newton, who lived in the property in Melksham.
His car was later found on Exmoor in Somerset.
Mr Newton was arrested this morning after a tip-off by a member of the public.
