A spokesman from Shaw Healthcare on behalf of the home said the allegation was being taken "extremely seriously".
Members of staff connected to the incident have since been suspended, pending the outcome of a police and our own investigation.

A previous CQC inspection of The Granary highlighted some areas for improvement, but the care home owners say it is "unrelated to the current situation."

Police have arrested two North Somerset care home staff on suspicion of assaulting and neglecting an elderly resident. The men, who have not been named, were arrested by Avon and Somerset Police following a reported incident at The Granary in Lodge Lane, in Wraxall.
Both men have been bailed and suspended from their positions pending the investigation at the home.
