Kerry McCarthy, Labour MP for Bristol East, says we mustn't be "too judgemental" about people who eat ready meals and can't afford fresh meat. The MP was speaking in a House of Commons debate on horse meat, which has been found in some ready meals.
The Gloucestershire farmer is questioning why we are importing processed meat if we don't know where it's come from. It comes after horse meat was found in a number of products sold in supermarkets. Most recently, Findus lasagnes were found to contain 100 per cent horse meat.
