Keynsham firearms charge

A man from Keynsham has appeared in court charged with possession of an imitation firearm and other offences after an incident in Minsmere Drive. Simon Tandy has been remanded in custody.

Disabled man in court over firearms incident

Simon Tandy from Minsmere Court in Keynsham has appeared before magistrates in connection with a firearms incident. He was shot in the leg during the incident on 7 May.

Mr Tandy has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to resist arrest.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 11 June.

Simon Tandy, aged 47, and from Minsmere Drive in Keynsham is due at Bristol magistrates court today charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to resist arrest.

It follows an incident in Minsmere Drive on 7 May.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating what happened.
