A car has crashed into a Swindon lap dancing club. An eyewitness said the driver climbed out through the sunroof and poured petrol all over the vehicle, setting the club on fire.

Man arrested after Swindon lap-dancing club crash

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a car crashed into the front of a lap-dancing club in Swindon yesterday.

The Dream Lounge genlemen's club on Victoria Road suffered extensive damage after the car reversed into the building and caught fire.

Fire crews were called out at around 7am.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endager life.

He currently remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.

Fire at Swindon club after car hits building

A "significant fire" at a lap-dancing club in Swindon has been put out after a car reversed into the building.

Fire crews had been called to reports of a car fire near the Dream Lounge gentleman's club, but quickly learned the building was ablaze as well.

Parts of Victoria Road and Regent Circus were shut by police shortly after 7am while the fire was put out.

All occupants of the building escaped unhurt but were left shaken by the incident.

Police are appealing for information regarding the incident and want to hear from anyone who was around the area at the time.

It is extremely fortunate that no one was injured in this incident.

We are conducting a thorough investigation with colleagues from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, including analysis of CCTV in the area.

We know that there were several people in the area shortly before the car hit the building and I would like to hear from anyone with information.
