A man from Bath has been sentenced to 15 and a half years for stabbing a childhood friend and various drugs offences.

A man from Bath has been sentenced to 15 and a half years for stabbing a childhood friend and various drugs offences.

23 year old Nathan Dixon was convicted of guilty of grievous bodily harm after he stabbed Jacob Russell on Gay Street in the early hours of a Sunday morning in April.

He has received 13 years for the stabbing and two and a half years for possessing and supplying drugs.

His Honour Judge Longman told Dixon; 'You carried out a savage, brutal and sustained attack with a knife on a defenceless man, repeatedly stabbing him in the side of the chest and leg which could have so easily have been fatal.'

He has been guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

It followed an incident in Gay Street in Bath in April when a 24 year old man was stabbed.

Dixon was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in September.

Co-defendant 26 year old Karl Gordon of Phoenix House in Bath was cleared of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
