The scene of a crash in which a pedestrian was badly hurt after a people carrier reversed into her in Orange Grove in Bath.

It happened at 1.20pm this afternoon. The woman was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital with arm and leg injuries.

The road was closed for a number of hours but has now re-opened.

Pedestrian injured in crash in Bath

Emergency crews were called to Orange Grove in Bath at 1.20pm this afternoon (Friday) after a woman pedestrian was involved in a collision.

The air ambulance landed on the Rec and airlifted her to Frenchay hospital with injuries that are believed to be life threatening.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in the centre of Bath.

Witnesses say a people carrier reversed into a crossing in Orange Grove between Cheap Street and North Parade, knocking the woman down and trapping her under the car.

She's been taken to Frenchay Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Orange Grove remains closed near the shops. North Parade Road inbound is also closed but is open outbound (towards the A36).
