Hundreds of off road motorcyclists have been competing in the annual beach race at Weston-super-Mare. Thousands of spectators watched the riders take on monster sand dunes and challenging weather.

Beach race back at Weston this weekend

Thousands of people will be heading to Weston super Mare beach this weekend, but it's not about sand, donkeys and ice cream.

They'll be there for the annual spectacle that is the Weston beach race, when hundreds of bikers roar over huge man made sand dunes.

It's one of the town's most popular events and is hugely important to the local economy. David Woodland looks ahead to what promises to be a less than quiet weekend.
