Two people killed in Lydney crash

A man and a woman have died and another woman is seriously injured after a two car collision on the A48 in the Forest of Dean this afternoon.

It happened at about 3.40pm at Lensbrook near Lydney. The two occupants of a Peugeot car - a 29-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, both from Lydney, died at the scene.

A 72-year-old local woman in a Mitsubishi was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol and remains in a serious condition.

Road closures were in place for around five hours while a full collision investigation was carried out.

Driver dies in Charfield crash

A man has been killed following a collision in the village of Charfield in South Gloucestershire.

The crash happened at about 1.30pm today on Wotton Road and involved a Toyota Roadster and a Nissan van.

An 18-year old man from Wotton-under-Edge who was in the Toyota died at the scene.

A road closure is in place while a collision investigation takes place.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
