Police investigating a beating in Bristol which left a 76-year-old woman for dead, have released a picture of the man they think is responsible. Horrific pictures of Jenny Taylor's injuries attracted national coverage but her attacker has yet to be caught.

Neighbours and strangers have donated money and time to help her recovery. She told Richard Payne how she's overwhelmed by their generosity.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a 76 year old was assaulted in a robbery in Bristol. Jean Taylor was left with nasty head injuries after the incident at her home in Green Street, Totterdown at around 2pm on Tuesday 28th January.

Investigator Paul Hopes said: “While it is not possible to see his face, I would like the public to look closely at his clothing."

“Jean is still recovering from the incident but she has been overwhelmed by the support of the local community, who have donated flowers, gifts and even raised money for her.

A reward of up to £3,000 is being offered by the charity Crimestoppers for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

A pensioner from Bristol has described the moment she thought she was going to die after being assaulted and robbed in her home.

Jenny Taylor, who's 76, was left with head injuries after a man called at her door before attacking her and making off with £100.

Tonight the police have put up a £3,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest.

A pensioner in Bristol has been left with shocking injuries after being battered in her home by an intruder.

Jean Taylor suffered head wounds after being assaulted in Totterdown.

The 76-year-old, who uses a walking stick to get around, was at her home in the Green Street area at around 2pm on January 28 when the doorbell rang.

She answered the door and a man started a conversation with her, which lasted several minutes.

As she went back inside her house, the man followed her in and assaulted her, leaving her with cuts and bruises to her head.

He stole cash and left the house.

The intruder is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s and of medium build.
