Latest on water crisis in the Burnham-on-Sea area

Thousands of homes in Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow, Highbridge and Lympsham are without water tonight after a mains burst.

Bristol Water has issued an update at 22:50 tonight:

Water is now filling the storage reservoir on Brent Knoll and once we have a sufficient amount in the tanks we will begin restoring supplies across the area in a controlled manner.

This will take a few hours and will mean that as the supply returns more and more homes will get their water back until the water reaches the furthest parts of this network.
