A man from Bath has been forced to drive 500 miles to collect his daughter's passport so she can go on a school trip to Germany tomorrow.

Paul Wilson had to go to Durham when the passport failed to arrive six weeks after the application was sent off.

Tens of thousands of others are also held up. Today the Prime Minister promised the backlog would be cleared. Our political correspondent Bob Constantine reports.
