There are plans to rebuild Temple Fire Station in Bristol. It's part of the Fire Service's 'Investing in the Future' programme, which was launched in January. The station shares its site with the Service's Headquarters.

If the plans go through it will free up part of the Temple Back plot for redevelopment.

The headquarters of Avon Fire & Rescue could move from the centre of Bristol to a new building in Keynsham under plans to save £3m in the next three years. Proposals to move from Temple Way to a smaller HQ in Keynsham are to be discussed at a meeting of Avon Fire Authority on Friday.

Other plans include closing Speedwell Fire Station by consolidating services in an extended station at Kingswood. Chief Fire Officer Kevin Pearson said: "Keynsham town centre is undergoing a major redevelopment which means the existing fire station will have to move.

"It's estimated that our current HQ in central Bristol needs around £7m of repairs. The redevelopment of Keynsham provides an opportunity to move to a smaller, purpose-built HQ that reflects our modern needs. "
