Claudia Fragapane flies into Bristol from Commonwealth Games

Gymnast Claudia Fragapane has arrived back home in Bristol after her huge success at the Commonwealth Games. The 16-year-old from Longwell Green arrived at Bristol airport earlier this evening to a huge reception of family and friends. She is the first English woman to win four gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games for 84 years. Claudia is a member of the Bristol Hawks Gymnastics Club in Easton.

Bronze for North Somerset gymnast Ruby Harrold

North Somerset gymnast Ruby Harrold has won a bronze medal in the individual uneven bars competition at the Commonwealth Games.

It's the third medal of the Games for the 18 year-old from Lower Langford. The bronze is added to her gold in the team competition and silver in the individual all around event.

Bristol's Claudia Fragapane added a third gold medal to her Commonwealth Games collection as she won the women's vault at the SSE Hydro this afternoon.

Claudia had already won the all around gold medal last night and was a member of the England team which won the team competition..

There has been more West country success at the Commonwealth games. In gymnastics, Portishead's Claudia Fragapane won gold in the women's individual all-around event.

5 students from Gloucestershire school competing at Commonwealth Games

A school in Gloucestershire is celebrating success, not because of the number of medals it has won but the number of former pupils it has competing in Glasgow.

Wycliffe College has 5 former students at the games, all competing in the squash.

Alister Walker, who's ranked 22 in the World. He made it to the last 16 before being knocked out but credits the school with his career success:
