Record numbers turned out in Swindon today for the 7th Gay Pride event. Around 300 people paraded through the town before a festival was held in the Town Gardens.

Record numbers turned out in Swindon today for the 7th Gay Pride event. Around 300 people paraded through the town before a festival was held in the Town Gardens. Emergency services got involved in the march, with rainbow flags flown at Gablecross Police station for the first time. it was also flown at one of the town's biggest employers Nationwide.

"Bring the community together to celebrate that everybody's different. To show what a diverse community we have among us. Hopefully the event educates people to show that we're just one community and we should all just try and get on."
