Wiltshire Police have revealed that black ice has caused dozens of accidents on roads across the county today (Monday.)
Police had already dealt with 53 road traffic accidents by 8am this morning. There were no serious injuries.
Two elderly female pedestrians have been hurt in an accident in Worle. They were involved in a collision with a 4x4 car on Lawrence Road off the High St. Ambulance crews are at the scene and the road has been closed while investigations are carried out.
An accident is blocking the A346 at Chiseldon. It's affecting traffic between the M4 at Swindon, and Marlborough.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 48-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle this morning (Thursday July 12th) The woman had been walking her dog along the B3139 at Lynch Hill, Chilcompton.
The woman suffered a serious head injury and although she was treated at the scene, died later.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
