Tonight councillors agreed to lobby the Government to change the laws regarding failed asylum-seekers so that they can get access to housing and benefits.

People have been sleeping out in Bristol to raise awareness of the living conditions of asylum-seekers in the city. The demonstration is part of a campaign for justice for refused asylum-seekers, many of whom are destitute because they do not have the right to work. Here's Tanya Mercer
