A hedgehog that got stuck in a crisp packet behind railings is recovering at a sanctuary in Cheddar. It took six people three and a half hours to rescue Crispian, as he's been named. His ordeal has made him an international star with regular requests for updates about his progress.
He will stay at Prickles Hedgehog Rescue for the winter as he is too small to survive hibernation. Staff hope to release him in spring when he will be much bigger and the weather is warmer.
A rescue centre for injured hedgehogs is opening its new hospital. Prickles Hedgehog Rescue in Somerset has been rescuing and rehabilitating hedgehogs for release back to the wild for more than four years. In that time 400 hedgehogs have been released by the charity, which is run by volunteers.
