Devon author Hilary Mantel has been made a Dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
Also honoured is a charity manager from Devon has received an MBE as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours.
56 year old Shirley Fewings from Dawlish was instrumental for providing care for those who lost their homes in the storms earlier this year. She has also been praised for raising money to support young people in the area.
Winter Olympic gold medallist Lizzy Yarnold from Bath has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Also honoured are Bristol MP Dawn Primarolo, who's been made a Dame, and former Bath Rugby owner and businessman Andrew Brownsword - who was awarded a CBE.
