Mentally ill man jailed indefinitely for Bristol killing
A man suffering from mental illness has been jailed for the manslaughter of another man in Bristol last year.
Marc Carter, who is 47, has been given an inderminate sentence but must serve at least ten years before he can be considered for parole. It follows the death of 32 year Gino Nelmes, who was found with multiple stab wounds at a property in Horfield in March last year.
Speaking after the sentencing at Bristol Crown Court, Detective Inspector Edward Heath from Avon & Somerset Police said: "This was a tragic and senseless killing of Gino Nelmes, a young man who had his own problems but was coping and living well in a supportive environment".
