Members of the Bath-based Olympic modern pentathlon team speak of their hopes. First is Mhairi Spence, reigning world champion. Samantha Murray won a bronze at the 2012 world championships. Nick Woodbridge is world number five and Sam Weale the only Briton to win a medal at the Europeans.
Devon modern pentathlete Heather Fell has missed out on selection for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Olympics.Fell, who won the silver medal in the event in Beijing in 2008, achieved the qualifying standard but was pipped to the two spots in the team by Mhairi Spence and Samantha Murray.
Yeovil's Sam Weale was selected in the men's team along with Nick Woodbridge.
