Blind man robbed in Gloucestershire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a blind man was robbed in South Gloucestershire.

The incident took place on Wednesday (14/9) on Downend Road, Kingswood, at 5 past midnight.

The victim, a 53-year-old man, was walking home when he was approached by a number of men.

One asked the victim for a cigarette before grabbing his jacket.

The victim was then head-butted in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

While on the ground, the victim's pockets were searched and a packet of cigarettes were stolen.

The men then ran off.

Man forced to withdraw cash from ATM at knifepoint

Police are investigating a robbery at knifepoint which took place on Cowick Street in Exeter.

It happened at around 2:30 am on Sunday 28 August. A 25-year-old man was walking down an alleyway when he was approached by an unknown man.

The offender threatened the victim with a knife and walked him to a cash point at the Tesco Metro. The victim was forced to withdraw £50. The offender then took the bank card and withdrew a further £120, after which the victim managed to retrieve his bank card and ran away.

This is a serious crime and we are appealing for anyone who has information regarding this incident to come forward.

While no one was hurt, money was taken and the victim was left understandably very shaken.

Robbery at Stroud Post Office

A knife-wielding man has made off with cash in a robbery at a post office in Stroud. It happened just before 10 o'clock this morning at the branch in Stratford Road. Staff were left shocked but uninjured. The robber escaped on foot.

He's described as white, between 23 and 25 years old and of slim build. He was wearing a navy blue hoodie, jogging trousers and sunglasses.

Police appeal for Taunton robbery witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a robbery happened in Taunton. On Monday 16th July at 10am a woman was walking along the footpath between Vivary Road and Vivary Park when she was pushed from behind by a man demanding money.

She gave him a small amount of cash and he also took her shopping bag. Police would like to speak anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time. The suspect is described as a white man, aged 20-25-years-old and around 5 feet 10 inches tall.

He was wearing a black zip-up jacket, dark blue jeans, black gloves and a dark-coloured baseball cap worn back to front.

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Armed robbery in Cheltenham: CCTV picture released

Police in Cheltenham are hunting two men who stole a large amount of cash from a bookies. The hooded offenders escaped on bicycles after robbing Ladbrokes in Rowanfield Avenue. Both men were brandishing knives when they threatened a cashier during the robbery on Sunday afternoon.
