12-year-old girl critically injured in four-vehicle crash outside school

Three people have been critically injured in a crash outside a school - one of them a 12-year-old girl.

Dorset Police were called at 8.35 this morning (13 April) to a serious four-vehicle traffic collision in Motcombe, near Shaftesbury.

The girl, a woman in her 40s and a man sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and were taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

A second 12-year-old girl suffered serious injuries, one person sustained minor injuries and two people were uninjured in the crash.

The road has been closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident. It is likely the road will be closed for some time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Man dies and two others injured after M5 crash

The M5 Southbound between junctions 25 and 26 (Taunton) is expected to stay closed until at least 11am.

It's following a crash in which a man in his 20s died. Another two people have been taken to Musgrove Park hospital in Taunton in a life threatening condition. All were travelling in the same car.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.

Motorists are being advised to take alternative routes.
