62 year old Michael Chudley has been remanded in custody
A man remains in a life threatening condition this evening after being shot in the head at a solicitors' office in Wiltshire.
Michael Chudley, 62, appeared in court accused of shooting solicitor James Ward, 58, with a sawn-off shotgun at his office on Monday afternoon.
Mr Chudley confirmed his name, date and address during the hearing at Salisbury Magistrates' Court. An application for bail was not made.
Wiltshire Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a man was shot in the head in Devizes.
James Ward, who's 58 remains in hospital with life threatening injuries following the shooting at a solicitor's office in the Wiltshire town on Monday.
62 year old Michael Chudley has also been charged with threats to kill, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and carrying a firearm with criminal intent.
He remains in police custody and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday 4th July 2012).

Police were called to Morris, Goddard and Ward on St John's Street in Devizes yesterday afternoon.
The victim, named locally as 58-year-old solicitor James Ward, from Westbury, was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. His family are at his side.
A 62-year old man is in custody in Melksham, and a weapon has been recovered.
Road closures around the building have now been lifted.

From @claire4devizes on Twitter:– Spokesman for Great Western Ambulance ServiceWe received a 999 call at 2.58pm reporting a man had been injured in an incident involving a firearm in office premises in St John's Street, Devizes.
A paramedic in a rapid-response vehicle was on scene at 3.04pm, backed up by other resources, including ambulance crew, doctor, air ambulance and duty officers to liaise with other emergency services.
He was treated and stabilised on scene before being conveyed to Frenchay Hospital by the Great Western Air Ambulance, with a critical care paramedic and critical care doctor on board."

A spokesman from Wiltshire Police said: "A male walked into the offices of David Nolder and Co in St John's Street, armed with a weapon, and shot a male.
The offender drove off in a car but was arrested at approximately 3.35pm without a struggle by armed officers in Rowde.
He is now in custody at Melksham Police Station. We recovered a weapon which we believe was used in the incident."
