Woman loses unborn baby in four car crash

Police want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a crash involving four cars in Somerset that had devastating consequences. It happened on the B3151 near Somerton soon after 5pm on Wednesday 28 March.

A woman in her 30s lost her unborn baby after the collision and a two-year-old child has been left with life-changing injuries.

The vehicles involved were:

  • a blue Ford Fiesta
  • a blue Peugeot 307
  • a yellow Seat Ibiza
  • a green Volkswagen Polo

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and in particular, the manner in which the Ford Fiesta was being driven before it happened.

Police trying to find a missing man from Somerton have found his car. Philip Eyre, who's 58, was last seen leaving his home on Wednesday afternoon. He was driving a silver Peugeot 206 which was found near Charlton Mackrell yesterday morning. Officers have been searching the area.
