Any points they can take from their final two away matches, with Newcastle (Sunday), and Redcar, will see them through to the Play Off Final, where Edinburgh are waiting to renew their rivalry with the Rebels.

Somerset Rebels win 49-44 at Highbridge

Speedway's Somerset Rebels won the first leg of their Premier League play-off final by a tight margin.

They beat Scunthorpe Scorpions 49-44 at the Oaktree Arena and will now take their five point lead with them for the second leg at Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday.

If they win, it will be their second trophy of the season - last night they won the Premier League Cup.

Speedway's Somerset Rebels have clinched the first part of what they hope will be a trophy double this season.

The Rebels won the Premier League Cup last night, beating the Ipswich Witches 95-90 on aggregate.

They now take on the Scunthorpe Scorpions in the Premier League play-off final, with the first leg on their home track at the Oaktree Arena tonight.
