Teen arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another was seriously injured during an assault.

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital after he was attacked at around 1am in Talavera Close in St Philips.

It's not thought his condition is life-threatening.

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

Police in Bristol appeal for witnesses following fatal crash

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in the St Phillips area of Bristol last night (Tuesday July 3).The incident was reported at about 9pm. A Honda Civic was travelling along Feeder Road in the direction of Temple Meads.

As it negotiated a left hand bend it's believed to have mounted the kerb. The vehicle then crashed into a post box before colliding with a tree.One of the four men – aged 19 – in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was taken to Frenchay Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out their investigations.Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
