A controversial plan to ban taxi drivers from using sat navs in Bath and North East Somerset has been rejected. Councillors at a licensing committee meeting last night, voted against the plans, which one member called "unworkable and nonsensical."
Taxis will no longer be able to pick up passengers outside Temple Meads station unless they have a licence from the landowners. First Great Western will charge cabbies £375 a year. The train operator already charges drivers £600 to use Bristol Parkway and Bath Spa stations.
