Royal visit marks lighthouse's 150th anniversary

Her Royal Highness Princess Anne visited the Somerset town of Watchet today.

The little harbour, between Minehead and Burnham on Sea, is one of only a few refuges for yachts along the often wild West Somerset coast.

The Princess Royal unveiled a plaque marking the 150th anniversary of the lighthouse. She came in her capacity as president of the Royal Yachting Association.

Our Somerset correspondent, David Woodland has been looking at the history of the harbour and the lighthouse - which was once accidentally demolished!
