Taxi Crashes Into Ancient Shelter

Cheddar's Market Cross, part of which is medieval, has been badly damaged after being crashed into by a people carrier style taxi.

It's the second time the ancient shelter has been knocked down by a vehicle. It was seriously damaged in 2000.

Cheddar's Market Cross, which dates back to the 15th century, has been badly damaged after being crashed into by a taxi.

The people-carrier crashed into the structure on Friday night. It's the second time that the ancient shelter in the world-famous Somerset town has been seriously damaged.
