Father of stranded rower talks about son's plight

The father of a rower stranded 700 miles from the Japanese coast says his family is waiting anxiously for news. Charlie Martell from Cirencester was attempting to row 4,500 miles across the Pacific to San Francisco when his boat capsized in a tropical storm.

Coastguards in Japan are now co-ordinating his rescue. Charlie's father Charles Martell spoke to our Gloucestershire correspondent Ken Goodwin about what has happened.
