Regrettably, two level crossings outside Cheltenham are closed to road traffic after cable thieves damaged signalling cables in the area.
They also damaged one of the level crossing barriers itself.
Nothing was stolen, but the damage was extensive.
The signals and level crossings are all part of the same system - hence the disruption. Safety is our priority and at no point was any train or person put at risk by the damage.
The vandalism was discovered at 2.30 this morning. Network Rail hopes to have everything back to normal this afternoon.
