Winterbourne View promises not met

A report following the Winterbourne View scandal has found a pledge to move people out of institutions and into the community has not been met. 11 workers were convicted of abusing patients at the South Gloucestershire care home in 2011.

CPS: 'This was a disability hate crime'

The last care worker charged with ill-treating patients at Winterbourne View Hospital near Bristol has appeared in court to plead guilty.

It means 11 members of staff have now admitted abusing or neglecting vulnerable mental health patients.
