Council receives more money back from collapsed Icelandic bank
Wiltshire Council has received half of the money back from the winding-up board of collapsed Icelandic bank, Landsbanki.
With the most recent payment of £180,000 the council has now received around £1,515,856. That's more than 50% of the total outstanding amount.
Latest indications show the council will eventually receive 100% of its outstanding deposit of £3 million, although the recovery may take several years.
– Jane Scott, Leader, Wiltshire CouncilI am very pleased the third payment from Landsbanki has been made to the council and brings our total repayments to more than £1.5 million.
We will keep a close eye on the winding-up proceedings and will continue to update the public when we have news.
