A star-studded gala last night saw some of the region's most inspiring citizens recognised at the Pride of Britain Awards.
Among them was seven year old Ramona Gibbs from Bristol who saved her sister Trixie from certain death.
Meanwhile Flo and Jim Essex, from Yeovil, were named fund-raisers of the year. The couple, who are in their eighties, have raised thousands of pounds for charity by running, swimming and even laying down on a bed of nails, all in aid of great causes.
