A man has died in a hit and run accident near to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol this morning.The man, who was in his seventies, was hit by a vehicle near the Texaco garage on Frenchay Park Road at around 7am. He was taken to Frenchay Hospital but died following the accident.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop following the collision. Police are appealing for witnesses - the vehicle involved is believed to have been damaged at the front.
The road is currently closed between Beckspool Road and Malmains Drive while the emergency services deal with the incident. Traffic is being diverted along Beckspool Road and Malmains Drive.
