Prince Charles to visit Dorset

A bio-digester which turns food waste and plant material into household gas will be opened by the Prince of Wales in Dorset today. The site near Dorchester feeds the gas to neighbouring homes and the national grid. Some is also used to generate electricity on the site.

The gas could heat around four thousands homes in winter and more in the summer. Prince Charles will also open a new ward at Dorset County Hospital.
