Protesting for a supermarket: full report

Dozens of people braved the rain to stage a protest march in favour of a new supermarket in the Forest of Dean.

Plans for a new Asda store in Cinderford have been blocked following a legal challenge from the local Co-Op.

The demonstration has revealed tensions in the town between groups for and against the development, as Tanya Mercer reports.

Supermarket chains often face a lot of local opposition when they want to open a new store. But people in Cinderford desperately want a new supermarket, after previous attempts were blocked by the rival Co-op.
