Dog mess poses health risk in Winchcombe

Tewkesbury Borough Council and Gloucestershire Police are teaming up to carry out extra patrols to stop people letting their dogs foul in public places and leaving it.

The campaign is in particular response to complaints in the Winchcombe area - with children's play parks being a particular concern.

It could see people fined up to £1000.

Most dog owners are very responsible and clear up after their dogs properly but there is a minority that don’t. Leaving it behind isn’t just unpleasant for other members of the public but it’s also a serious health hazard, especially for children who are particularly vulnerable.
