Somerset County Council has closed the A359 between Queen Camel and Mudford due to flooding.
The road will be closed through the night and a decision on whether to re-open it will be made in the morning.
There has also been a significant oil spill on the A358, from Chard to the county boundary, which Somerset Highways is cleaning. The road is open but all drivers should be extremely careful in the area being cleaned.
