CCTV released as police investigate Cheltenham assault

Police investigating an assault in Cheltenham have released CCTV images of a number of people they would like to speak to.

The assault happened at around 3am on Tuesday December 18, on Ormond Place near to the junction with Regent Street and involved a large group of people who became involved in an altercation.

A 30-year-old man from Stroud was assaulted and taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment for injuries to his face.

Following the assault most of the group left the scene in the direction of the promenade.

Two 17-year-old men from Gloucester have been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection to the incident. They have been bailed to return to the police station in February.

The people seen in these CCTV images, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to contact Gloucestershire Police by calling 101.
