Temporary Chief Constable given position permanently

The temporary Chief Constable of Wiltshire Police has been given the job on a permanent basis.

Pat Geenty was selected over two other candidates for the police force's top job. He has a five-year contract and will earn £133,000 a year.

He 's only the 12th person to hold the position and says his priorities are trying to maintain services while cutting costs. Mr Geenty has been in temporary charge since last March.
