Maternity units at hospitals across the West Country are set to receive Government funding to improve their facilities. The highest amount will go to Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust, which will receive £600,000 to update its 1940s building.

North Bristol NHS Trust will get almost half a million pounds, while grants will also be given to Bath's Royal United Hospital, Yeovil District Hospital and Stroud Maternity Unit.
