Warning on bogus council tax rebates
People in Gloucestershire are being warned to watch out for cold callers offering bogus council tax refunds. Some residents in Tewkesbury have been targeted by scammers claiming they're entitled to a £2,000 rebate on council tax bills in exchange for a payment.
The borough council says it's had several calls from pensioners who are worried about the calls. Police in the town say they hope neighbours will pass on the warning.
