£800 has been stolen from the shop on Montpelier Street. Between 9.30 and 9.45 on Tuesday evening, February 12, a man went into the bookmakers with a knife. He told a member of staff to hand over money from the till and safe.
The man stole more than £800 in cash, before walking off towards the town centre. The member of staff was not injured in the incident and no customers were on the premises at the time.
The offender was described as around 6ft tall and of medium build. He had a scarf covering his face and was wearing a baseball cap and a blue hooded jumper, with the hood up over the cap and a blue zip-up hooded jacket. Police would like anyone with information to come forward.
