Women's football club signs Spanish star

Bristol Academy Women’s Football Club has reached agreement for the transfer of Natalia Teresa Pablos Sanchon from Spanish club Rayo Vallecano.

Natalia will join the Vixens - subject to international clearance - for the start of their FA WSL campaign, against Everton Ladies on Thursday April 18th.

The 27 year old Spanish International joins the club with a record of over 300 goals - at a rate of over a goal a game in the Spanish Superliga.

She also scored the first goal in Rayo’s 2-0 Champions League victory over current WSL Champions Arsenal ladies in 2010/11 season.

“I am sad to be leaving Rayo who are a brilliant club and I have had a wonderful time with them. Now I am really excited about joining Bristol. I will be doing my very best to help the team. I'm anxious to get there and give my best to the team. I feel privileged to play in Bristol and in the English Super League”.

“Natalia is a fantastic signing for us. Not only are we bringing in a top player but we are adding another character who will fit well into our group. She reminds me of Michu with her work ethic and style on the pitch, so if she can have anywhere near the impact he has had in the English game we will be delighted. One thing for certain is our supporters can be excited to see another world class attacking talent at the Stoke Gifford next season”.
