Chemical scare in Trowbridge: 999 response

Fire engines from Trowbridge, Westbury, Bradford on Avon and Warminster attended the incident on Tuesday afternoon, along with an operational support unit from Salisbury and an incident command unit from Stratton.

A ‘hazmat’ specialist officer was also at the scene, supported by staff in the Devizes Control room.

South Western Ambulance Service and an ambulance hazardous area response team (HART) were also sent to assist with decontaminating two contractors who had been in contact with the dust.

Neither suffered any ill effects or required hospital treatment.
